NEW-Secretary, Associate Degree Nursing (part-time days)
Roanoke-Chowan Community College is currently seeking applications for a part-time Secretary in the Associate Degree Nursing program. The Secretary will be responsible for carrying out the functions and responsibilities of the office to assure smooth, timely and efficient operation. Job duties will include, but are not limited to preparing correspondences, sorting incoming mail, arranging appointments and meetings, preparing agendas, taking and transcribing minutes where assigned, scheduling and/or coordinating travel for ADN department, inventory maintenance and requisitioning of office supplies, equipment, audiovisuals and instructional materials, assisting with compiling annual evaluation documents, and minor preventive maintenance of lab equipment.
The Secretary will report directly to the Director of Nursing but is expected to maintain high visibility and interactions with administrative departments, faculty, students and the public.
Minimum Qualifications: An Associate’s degree or higher in Office Systems Technology or related field from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum two (2) years experience in an office setting and experience in working with medical terminology required. Knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and Power Point required. Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Preference will be given to applications received by July 1, 2008, even though applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Salary and benefits are commensurate with credentials, background and experience.
