Healthcare Coding and Billing
The course is designed to prepare an individual for an entry level position in healthcare billing and coding. The topics that will be taught include, managed healthcare, insurance claims, coding, regulations, reimbursement issues, insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid as well as Workers’ Compensation. Phlebotomy
The Phlebotomy training prepares the student to draw blood specimens from patients for the purpose of testing and analyzing blood. A phlebotomist job includes maintenance of equipment used in obtaining blood specimens, the use of appropriate communication skills when working with patients, plus clerical duties associated with record keeping of the blood test. Nurse Aide I
This course introduces basic nursing skills required to provide personal care for patients, residents, or clients in a health care setting. Upon successful completion of the course the student is eligible to apply for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP). The successful completion of the NNAAP is required to be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry. For more information please call 862-1261.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
When a student completes the EMT Basic Initial Certificate program, he/she will have completed the EMT Basic Initial class along with the Emergency Vehicle Driving class and the Incident Command classes. Students will be job ready for a successful career as an EMT Basic and opening the future for further advancement. Green Construction Trades (Weatherization)
Today’s society is becoming more aware of the effects of energy consumption and pollution. Green Construction courses can offer simple solutions to everyday weatherization problems you encounter in a home. We will train you to be job ready by learning skills that include weatherization, insulation, conservation and other energy saving repairs and improvements.
