North Carolina’s Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is designed to meet the needs of both employers and job seekers.

For employers, the CRC offers a reliable means of determining whether a potential employee has the necessary literacy, numeracy and problem solving skills to be “job ready.”

For job seekers, the CRC serves as a portable credential that provides proof to an employer of your workplace skills and helps you stand out from other job applicants.

To earn a Career Readiness Certificate an individual completes the WorkKeys® Assessments in Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information. The ACT WorkKeys System is nationally recognized and EEOC and ADA complainant. The WorkKeys system awards three levels of certification; bronze, silver, and gold.

Preparation
Open Lab – A starting place for all things WorkKeys and CRC, open labs are free and available to the public. During these floating sessions individuals can learn about the CRC, learn test taking skills, and practice for the assessments.
