If you previously attended Roanoke-Chowan Community CollNew Student Picege (R-CCC) but have been away for two full years (four semesters) or  more, you are considered a Returning/Readmit student. Welcome back to R-CCC! Whether you’re returning to complete your degree, begin a new program, or just taking classes to brush up on some skills, we’re glad that you’ve decided to further your education with us. Follow these easy steps to get started today!

Step 1. Apply for Admissions

Complete an application for admission either in person at the Admissions Office or online. An evaluation of your prior credential record will be conducted by the Registrar to determine if you need to retake placement test or certain courses due to statute of limitation.


Applying to R-CCC early will allow time for you to complete your placement testing assessment, meet with an academic advisor, and attend orientation! R-CCC can’t guarantee the availability of all courses. Apply today so you can begin the enrollment process and get the classes you need!

Step 2. Apply for Financial Aid (if needed)

Nearly 90% of all R-CCC students receive financial aid from federal, state, and private sources. One application—the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)—is used to determine the amount of aid you may receive. To meet deadlines and ensure fund availability, it is important to fill out your application as soon as possible. The R-CCC Financial Aid Office can assist you with questions regarding the completion and submission of your paperwork.

Step 3. Meet with an Academic Advisor

An academic advisor can access your previous course information through our computer system. The academic advisor can then recommend courses for you to take for the upcoming semester.

Step 4. Register for Courses
Step 5. Pay your tuition and fees by the posted deadline

You can pay your tuition and fees by phone, by mail, or in person at the Business Office. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify, and R-CCC also has a payment plan available.

Step 6. Obtain your student identification card

Take your student identification prior to purchasing your books. Ids can be taken in the Student Service Office.

Step 7. Purchase your books and supplies

Take a copy of your class schedule along with your student identification card to the R-CCC Bookstore (located in Jernigan Building, Room 111) to purchase your textbooks. For bookstore hours, call (252) 862-1292 or view their site online.  Note:  There is a 5-day return policy on books.  So shop wisely.

Step 8: Get Updates and Print Your Schedule

The week before classes begin, logon to your WebAdvisor account to check for any changes and print your class schedule.

And finally, enroll in class!!!
