Roanoke-Chowan Community College celebrated the accomplishments of its Associate Degree Nursing graduates during the annual Nurses Pinning Ceremony on May 1, at Carpenter’s Shop Church. Lisa Bynum Named New TRiO Counselor at Roanoke-Chowan Community College

R-CCC, in collaboration with Hertford County Early College High School and STEM East, hosted the STEM Outreach Lunch and Learn Series from April 7–10, a weeklong series of hands-on demonstrations and engaging STEM learning opportunities. Funded by a $1,500 grant, the initiative brought together students, educators and community partners to cultivate interest, confidence and skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Pictured are Early College High School students learning about the components and engineering needed for a computer’s central processing unit to execute instructions and control operations. In recognition of National County Government Month, Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) proudly presented a heartfelt tribute to the Hertford County local government during the commissioners’ meeting held on Monday, April 7. The tribute, delivered by Dr. Murray J. Williams, President of R-CCC, at the podium far left, honored the unwavering commitment and service of the Hertford County commissioners, the county manager, department heads and all county employees. The official tribute, presented on behalf of the R-CCC Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students, emphasized the essential role of county government in fostering community well-being and progress.

R-CCC honors Hertford County Government during National County Government Month

Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) held its annual Honors Convocation on April 3, recognizing outstanding student achievements across various disciplines. The event celebrated students who earned distinctions on the President’s List and Dean’s List for both the Spring and Fall 2024 semesters, as well as recipients of Academic Excellence Departmental Awards and prestigious Presidential Awards. Among the event’s highlights was the presentation of the NC Community College Academic Excellence Award to Javier Pagola Osorio, as well as the recognition of Markee Watford, who was named the regional and state recipient of the Governor Bob Scott Leadership Award. Arnasia S. Harrell was honored as R-CCC’s recipient of the Dallas Herring Award.
