Nurse Aide I |
The 190 hour course introduces basic nursing skills required to provide personal care for patients, residents or clients in the health care setting. Topics include communication, safety, patient rights, personal care, vital signs, elimination, nutrition, restorative care and rehabilitation in the long-term care setting. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Test.
Roanoke Chowan Community College is a North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
Requirements
High School Diploma or High School Equivalent must be 18 years of age
TB SKIN test prior to clinical rotation
Criminal Background Check prior to clinical rotation

$195 for tuition/course fee
$13.00 for Malpractice Insurance for clinical rotation
$5.00 Technology Fee
$33.00 for Criminal Background Check (This is paid directly to Castle Branch)
$40-50.00 TB skin test (Student responsible for payment)
**$140.00 STATE NURSE AIDE TESTING FEE PAID TO CREDENTIA AFTER STUDENT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE CLASS, LAB AND CLINICAL.
The student will be required to have clinical uniform and proper shoes. These items are purchased individually.
