R-CCC Honors Dedicated Employees for Years of Service
AHOSKIE, NC –Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) proudly recognized its part- and full-time employees for their dedicated years of service during a convocation ceremony held on campus, August 12. The event celebrated the commitment and contributions of staff members who have helped shape the college’s mission of excellence in education and student success.
Special recognition was given to Cara Edwards, who has served the college for nearly 32 years. Edwards currently holds the position of Accounts Receivable Coordinator, where her dedication and attention to detail have made a lasting impact on the college’s financial operations and student support services.
“Looking back on my more than 30 years at the college, the greatest reward has been seeing students walk in uncertain and walk out confident, knowing I played even a small role in that transformation. I am an alumnus of Roanoke-Chowan Community College. It is the smiles, the thank-yous and the moments when former students return to share their successes that remind me why I love what I do,” said Edwards.
She added, “What keeps me motivated is the belief that every person who steps through our doors carries a story worth investing in, and I am grateful to keep contributing to those stories every day. Roanoke-Chowan Community College is not just a workplace, it is a family of colleagues and community members working together to change the lives of our students.”
Edwards earned an Associate in Applied Science in the General Office program of study in 1992 and joined the college in 1993.
