Roanoke-Chowan Community College Enters Guaranteed Admission Partnership with NC State University

AHOSKIE, NC– Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) and North Carolina (NC) State University have signed a new Wolfpack Connect Guaranteed Admission Agreement, creating a streamlined pathway for R-CCC students to transfer to NC State.

The agreement ensures qualified R-CCC students who complete an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree will receive guaranteed admission into select NC State academic programs. The initiative expands transfer opportunities for community college students and strengthens the state’s pipeline for four-year degree attainment.

“We are proud to offer our students a clear and supported route to one of the state’s leading universities,” said R-CCC President Dr. Murray J. Williams. “This agreement reflects our shared commitment to access, opportunity and student success.”

Through Wolfpack Connect, participating students receive early admission to the program, individualized transfer planning, access to NC State advising resources and the use of the university’s Transfer Planner Tool. Students may also take up to two NC State courses per term while enrolled at R-CCC through a dual-enrollment option.

To qualify for guaranteed admission, students must:

  • Be accepted into the Wolfpack Connect program before completing 30 community college credits.
  • Complete an eligible AA or AS degree aligned with NC State’s Transfer Guides.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Earn at least 30 transferable credit hours with grades of C or better.
  • Meet all major-specific requirements and application deadlines.

The agreement also outlines annual data reviews to assess participation, transfer rates and student outcomes, as well as shared responsibilities for advising, program promotion and compliance with accreditation and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act requirements.

The Wolfpack Connect Guaranteed Admission Agreement will remain in effect through 2030, with opportunities for review and updates to eligible programs every three years.

For more information about the program, R-CCC students should contact the college’s Academic and Student Affairs division at 252-862-1200.
