Roanoke-Chowan Community College Welcomes Octavia Woodley as Continuing Education Assistant Registrar
AHOSKIE, NC – Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Octavia Woodley as the new Continuing Education Assistant Registrar. Woodley brings more than nine years of experience in education and student development to the role, along with a deep commitment to community engagement and lifelong learning.
Prior to joining R-CCC, Woodley served as a Visual Art Instructor, where she taught students of all ages and skill levels. Her work included developing dynamic art curricula, organizing student exhibitions and fostering creativity in the classroom. She also coached basketball, volleyball and softball, helping students build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills both on and off the court.
Woodley holds a Bachelor of Science from Elizabeth City State University and a Master of Fine Arts from Full Sail University. She has also completed additional coursework through the University of Phoenix and East Carolina University to enhance her teaching practice and stay current in the field of education.
“What drew me to Roanoke-Chowan Community College was its deep commitment to student success and community growth,” said Woodley. “As someone passionate about both education and mentorship, I was excited to join an institution that empowers individuals through learning, creativity and opportunity—especially in a close-knit, supportive environment.”
In her new role, Woodley hopes to continue making a positive impact by supporting students in finding educational pathways that align with their goals. “Whether through the arts or helping students discover a trade, my goal is to help them feel seen, supported and motivated to pursue their dreams,” she said.
