Regional Community Colleges Gather for Professional Development at COA
AHOSKIE, NC – College of The Albemarle (COA) hosted the Northeast North Carolina Community Colleges Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 28, bringing together faculty and staff from Beaufort County Community College, Martin Community College and Roanoke-Chowan Community College for a full day of professional development.
The event, held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on COA’s campus, focused on the unique challenges and opportunities facing rural community colleges in the region. Participants engaged in breakout sessions and collaborative discussions centered on best practices, student success and institutional growth.
Dr. Jeff Cox, president of the North Carolina Community College System, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of innovation, equity and collaboration across the state’s 58 community colleges.
The event aims to strengthen partnerships among neighboring institutions and support the professional growth of community college educators and staff across northeastern North Carolina.
