Roanoke-Chowan Community College Welcomes Green as Director of TRiO Student Support Services

AHOSKIE, NC– Roanoke-Chowan Community College has named Dr. Terrence Green as its new Director of TRiO Student Support Services, bringing extensive experience in education and administration to the role.

Green has spent most of his career in public education, serving as a physical education teacher, varsity wrestling coach and school administrator. Prior to joining R-CCC, he worked as an assistant principal at an alternative school in Wayne County, where he focused on supporting diverse student needs and fostering academic success.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and a doctorate from Fayetteville State University.

Green said he was drawn to the director position because it offers an opportunity to provide strategic leadership to a program that plays a vital role in student success. “This role allows me to combine my leadership experience with my passion for student development and educational equity,” he said.

Looking ahead, Green hopes to collaborate with faculty and staff to strengthen support systems and create pathways for students to thrive both academically and personally.

Dr. Murray J. Williams, president of R-CCC, praised Green’s appointment. “Dr. Green brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success,” Williams said. “His leadership will help us expand access and ensure that every student has the tools and support they need to achieve their goals.”
