Roanoke-Chowan Community College to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Fine Arts Building

 

                                                                    

AHOSKIE, NC – Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Lassiter-Gatling Fine Arts Building on Wednesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. on the college campus near the Davis Building.

The event will mark the official start of construction on the new facility, which is expected to enhance arts education and cultural opportunities for students and the surrounding community.

College leaders, faculty, staff, community members and supporters are invited to attend the ceremony, which will celebrate the continued growth of the institution and its commitment to expanding academic programs and student resources.

The Lassiter-Gatling Fine Arts Building will provide updated spaces designed to support creative learning. The project reflects the college’s ongoing efforts to invest in infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of its students and workforce partners.

“This groundbreaking represents more than the start of construction. It symbolizes our dedication to providing transformative educational opportunities and enriching the cultural landscape of our region,” said Dr. Murray J. Williams, president of Roanoke-Chowan Community College. “The Lassiter-Gatling Fine Arts Building will create new pathways for creativity, innovation and student success for years to come.”

The ceremony will include remarks from college leadership and invited guests, followed by the official turning of the soil.
