Roanoke-Chowan Community College Commercial Driver’s License Instructor Richard Hines, left, has been working with students (from left) Savone Moore, Dwight Walton and Frederick King during this fall’s course. Hines and the students went on a training mission Nov. 18 to United States Cold Storage in Warsaw, NC, to pick up one hundred 24-pound turkeys that were donated by Butterball for Operation Thanksgiving Blessing. They delivered the turkeys to the Seaboard Lions Club where a group of volunteers will carry them to Avery County to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for Hurricane Helene flood victims.
