White awarded Kingdom Building Scholarship to Attend ECU

AHOSKIE, NC –On August 13, Roanoke-Chowan Early College High School graduate Aniya White of Ahoskie was awarded an inaugural $1,000 scholarship from Kingdom Building Healing & Deliverance for All People Church. In addition to the scholarship, the Ahoskie-based church generously donated $1,000 to the Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) Foundation’s general fund to support ongoing student success initiatives.

White, who earned her Associate in Science degree from R-CCC in May, will attend East Carolina University this fall to study biology and business, with plans to pursue medical school and become an anesthesiologist.

“Being selected for this scholarship means a lot to me,” said White. “It will help me with tuition for school and won’t put as much stress on my family and it will help me further my education.”

Apostle Jarvis Parker, representing the church, shared that the scholarship is intended for students who have demonstrated achievement and a clear career path. “Our goal is to help college students through different ways and means to further their education and accomplish their goals. Whatever their goal is, we want to help and motivate them to finish what they set out to do.”

Pastor Flora Parker added, “We want to meet the totality of the man – academic, wellness, spiritual – the whole man.”

Dr. Murray J. Williams, President of Roanoke-Chowan Community College, expressed gratitude for the church’s support, “This generous scholarship and donation reflect the power of community partnerships in transforming lives. We are deeply grateful to Kingdom Building Healing & Deliverance for All People Church for investing in our students’ futures and helping us fulfill our mission of educational excellence and opportunity.”
